MIB is advancing multimodal technology

The MIB consortium is constantly advancing the frontiers of imaging technology – OCT, MSOT, SERDS and MPM – and of course their combination in multimodal imaging as well as the integration into common endoscopic devices. This can be seen in an amazing publication record, counting to date more than 20 scientific publications which have been published in the framework of MIB. In addition, researchers and engineers of MIB partners presented their novel findings at numerous scientific conferences, such as SPIE Photonics West or the EPIC meeting on Medical Lasers and Biophotonics. The consortium also engaged in training of the new generation of scientists and engineers, for instance, at the DoKDoK-conference for doctoral (PhD) students in all areas of Optics and Photonics or at University lectures. There is much more to come from MIB! So stay excited and stay tuned.

MIB on World Cancer Day 2020

MIB was featured by IBMI/HMGU on its social media channels “Munich Imaging” on World Cancer Day, rising awareness of the need to advance diagnostics by the help of multimodal imaging approaches.

Nordic-Bavarian Partnering Workshop

MIB was featured at HMGU’s presentation at the “Nordic-Bavarian Partnering Workshop: Research and Innovation for Health, Hospitals and Integrated Care” co-hosted by the Bavarian Research Alliance and the Innovation Centre Denmark on 7th November, 2019 in Munich. The event with around 100 participants focused on tailored networking and matchmaking of Bavarian scientists and small and medium sized enterprises with potential project partners from the Nordic region.

Members of the EU Project MIB were invited by EU project ESOTRAC (www.esotrac2020.eu) to a joint working dinner on May 15, 2019 in Copenhagen. Under the headline „ESOTRAC meets MIB: fostering collaborations“ participants of both projects met in a charming environment and engaged into deep technical and professional discussions. After the dinner the group took a long walk through the ancient city center of Copenhagen and continued chatting and networking. ESOTRAC‘s aims and approaches are closely related to those of MIB, as they develop a hybrid photonic endoscope combining multi-spectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for early detection of esophageal cancer.
